Today at lunch our 4 little piggies ate 2 cheese eggs (scrambled), a WHOLE piece of toast, and 1 cup of mixed fruit - EACH!!! I was sure they'd be SOOO full that they'd pass right out for nap, but it didn't happen. Instead Nora climbed out of her crib. 5 TIMES!!! It only sucked so bad because I was in bed, trying to nap myself. But nooooo... Nora had other plans. Ugh. I ended up bringing her downstairs with me adn she passed out on me. I love that, and the kids are getting a little old to still do that voluntarilly. So it wasn't all bad. And of course I went right out and bought her a crib tent so that she couldn't foil any more of my nap plans, LOL!
In other news, we have a sprouting nudist colony. Tess prefers to be in only a diaper, so she won't keep clothes on for more than an hour. It started with just missing pants, but soon escalated to the whole outfit. As soon as I see that she's taken her clothes off I ask her, "Tess! Where are your jammies?!" She replies, "Sorry, Ma. No want jammas," holding her hand up in front of her as if to say 'stop.' LOL How can you not laugh at that?? She's hysterical!
More lame news... Tony and I are now proud new owners of a 17 cu. ft. stand up storage freezer! We have a bottom freezer fridge that we LOVE, but with 6 people in our family, it gets over filled fast. Plus, we've been tossing around the idea of buying a half a cow, a full pig, plus a few chickens once a year, to store and eat off of until the next set of adorable doe-eyed animals are ready for slaughter. To do so, we'd need a freezer to store it all in. I'm incredably old and am totally excited over our freezer, LOL! I went shopping the day after we got it to stock it with frozen pizzas, chicken nuggets, waffles, veggies... spent $400. And it was only about 1/8th full. I also am excited since I have the Jessica Seinfeld and Missy Chase Lapine cook books, which give you good ways to sneak better nutrition into yummy, comfort foods. In order to do so, you need to prepare several purees ahead of time, and use them little by little to add to the dishes you're making. It's one of my goals to start making some meals ahead of time, freezing casseroles and main dishes and the purees for the recipies, and storing them all so instead of mac & cheese and chicken nuggets, we can feed our kids good, wholesome, quality meals easily. Life is hectic with 4 kids and anything to make it better, and EASIER, I will try! :) First off though, I have to find time to actually spend a weekend making all the purees and casseroles, LOL!
That's about all I've got for now. I told you it was going to be boring, LOL! Mostly b/c it's really the 23rd and I started this post like 2 weeks ago so I had to go by memory to finish it. LOL!! I have a bunch more draft posts I started that I'm going to work on finishing up too though, so hopefully thouse will be just slightly more entertaining. ;)
Much love,
