I finally signed up on Photobucket as I was trying to research ways to make my own photo Christmas cards so I could just take the file to Wal-Mart and have a hundred cards made for like, $15. Yes, because I am poor and frugal (and yes, those work out to be a great combo). So once I got on Photobucket I found Scrapblog. Oh my God. I should have never even checked it out becuase I LOVE IT!!!!! It's so fun and I can make so many beautiful pages and do all the cool scrapbook-esq things I used to do with actual paper, even though it took me as long to do a single page in cyber space as it would have taken with all the stickers, markers, cricuts, papers, and etc. I guess it's not so much a new addiction for me but more so that I am going green! It's the hardest website in the universe to navigate, which is why it took me so long to figure out what the fuck I was doing, but after two or three weeks of using it I am just now starting to get better at it. So anyway, here are the pages I put together to print for Christmas cards. I figured I'd share since they seriously took so long to do just these two sheets and I am proud of myself! I'm not getting anything else around the house done so why not brag about my cyber addictions? LOL I think I prefer the darker one with the circular frames (Tony does anyway), but the lighter one is cute too. If you're lucky you'll see a 4x6 glossy in your mailbox in a week (or so, LOL)!

Because I'm one of those people who will try something if someone tells me it gross or smells bad I had to got check out the Scrapblog...and I just wanted to share with you that I am seriously addicted to it already. It will make a really good tool to do calenders or something.
ReplyDeleteI love the dark one with the circle frames, it is so cute. I will have to check this out for myself.
ReplyDeleteOk so apparently we all have the same addictive personalities....Facebook, blogging (I just read everyone elses, my life is still to lame to blog about) and now Scrapblog....good thing we dont do drugs, we would be seriously screwed.......
ReplyDeleteHow did you print them out? Do you have to order those ADORABLE cards through scrapblog or can you sned them to Walmart type store and print them on the cheap.
ReplyDeleteMom of 4 under 2 always looking for a bargain! Thanks for sharing!!!
I am going to try to put the pic on one of those micro hard drives and bring it to Wal Mart to have them printed. The only options scrapblog has right now are real cards (like that fold in the center) and they're $1.99 a piece!!! There is NO WAY I'm printing them through Scrapblog, that's for damn sure! LOL I could always print them out myself but that would be just as expensive between paper and ink and besides, my printer isn't exactly top of the line... I'll let you know how it goes at Wally World. :)
ReplyDeleteSo we went with the first one, the one with the circles. I just liked how the kids' pictures popped in it. Also, just FYI - I did bring a flash drive loaded with the picture to Target and paid $.30 a picture to get instant prints. Well, wouldn't you know that the stupid Kodak DIY machine cut off the edges so Gwen became "Gwer" and Nora because "Iora". It's a good thing I complained to the cashier (the total came to $17 and some change) because they gave me the pics for free. I fixed the picture on Scrapblog to add more margin area and reprinted them, but kept the old ones to send to family and had extra for those last minute "Oh shit! They sent me a card I better chuck one in the mail today!" issues, LOL. They came out much better the second time around, so just an FYI to all you DIYers. Also, just for the record, apparently Target will print instant pics for you directly from Scrapblog, for only $.20 a print. There is some way on Scrapblog to "Print at Target" and they will print the pictures for you. I will have to remember that for next year since I paid $.10 extra per print. :( Live and learn, I guess.
